Dylan Hood

  • I am a very relaxed person. I like to take things as they come and go with the flow. I like to charge skiing, but only when the time is right. I have many different passions in life, and I like to try to incorporate them into my skiing in one way or another. Family and friends are number one to me, and growing as an individual is important to me. I think balance is very necessary through out life, so you have perspective on things.

  • Most important contest results or achievements in your ski career:
Being on a Heli trip with Jeremy Jones in British Columbia. Unfortunately we did not get to go into the big terrain because it was cloudy the whole time. But it was amazing to be riding with such an Icon. You can learn so much from riding with a person like that, it was an honor to be up there with him.
  • What is your favorite ski in 2011/2012 Collection?
    The 193 Shiro
  • Why do you like this ski?
It has a gear i have not had in a ski before. you can really open it up and be in complete control. Plus at high speeds you can just throw them sideways real quick and dump a bunch of speed.
  • What conditions do you use this ski for?
Big powder days, but its also great on the cruddy heavy days too.
  • What other skis in the 2011/2012 collection do you ride?
The chopstick is a go to most of the time.
  • Can you tell us a little about each pair of skis, and about what sort of conditions you use them for?
It's a great resort ski, and for you kids out there who like to ski backwards, its got amazing stability switch for those deep landings and cruddy runouts.
  • What bindings do you use and where do you mount them?
I always ski the Jester.  It's really light weight, and incredibly strong.  I usually run my bindings cranked as high as they will go.  They pop out when I need them too, and hold when I need them most.  I usually mount my skis 3 or so cm. behind the true center of the ski.
