Women's Biologic Concept

Revolutionizing women-specific Products

The introduction of Bio-Logic represented
a huge leap in performance PLUS the potential
to reduce injury. Völk engineers set out to
re-invigorate the women's category, and found
through testing the new products that there
was an added benefit - reduced stress on the knees.
3 key attributes allow the new Bio-Logic system
to create this revolutionary blend of improved
performance and ease of use.

Extended Sensorwood Core
Marker and Völkl engineers developed new Motion systems that put the skier in a more balanced stance. We created a more neutral stance by raising the toe of the binding – resulting in better balance between the muscles in the front and rear of the legs. The Bio-Logic stance affords less overloading of the quadriceps muscles, which undergo most of the strain in the turn. More balanced muscle action between the quads and hamstrings means better performance, and potential protection for the knees.

Multi-Layer Wood Core

Bio-Logic ski geometry - The proprietary Bio-Logic sidecut shapes are more generous in the tip, and narrower in the tail than those of unisex skis. They feature a specific, progressive design that has a tighter radius in the front of the ski for easier turn initiation and a longer radius toward the tail. The narrower tail allows the skier to finish the turn with less effort, allowing her to transition from one turn to the next with ease. This also reduces the load on the knees during the end of the turn.

Multi-Layer Wood Core

Völkl engineers carefully matched the flex of all Bio-Logic models to work in synergy with the new stance and geometry. Stiffer in the front of the ski for quick turn initiation, and softer in the tail for easy turn exit, the Bio-Logic flex enhances flex distribution and gives the skier the ultimate in comfort and control.

Extended Sensorwood Core
Extended Sensorwood Cores are created in a complex CNC milling process. The highly sophisticated milling program enables Völkl to produce wood cores with extreme precision. They are "extended" upward and lengthwise, milled to form the chambers of the Extended Double Grip construction. The core consists of a blend of poplar and beech wood, and is found in Völkl's highest performing models.

Extended Sensorwood Core
The Attiva Tip Profile makes use of a lower, shorter tip profile. Slightly reducing the height and length of the tip reduces the swing weight, making the skis easier to handle than unisex models.

Extended Sensorwood Core
The Attiva eMotion binding system features the raised-toe, Bio-Logic stance along with the Triple Pivot Comfort toe adapted from Marker's Royal Family bindings. The toe is shorter and lighter in weight, with boosted power transmission. A shorter interface that goes from 260 to 330mm means the shortest possible footprint on the ski for optimum flex. The interface is designed for women's skis with waist widths beween 70 and 79mm.

iPT Wide Ride
Also with Bio-Logic stance, the iPT Wide Ride is built for skis 80mm and wider with a shorter overall footprint of 260-330mm.

Attiva 3Motion
Updated with a new toe spacer to create the Bio-Logic stance, Attiva 3Motion's interface is designed to improve intermediate through advanced women's performance by allowing a round ski flex in the mid-body of the ski.

Attiva Motion LT 10.0
Attiva Motion LT 10.0 (din range 2.5-10) is ideal for improving women skiers. The Motion rails on this system feature the extra pin hole, 1cm ahead to adjust the skier's standing position. The new toe and heel components on the Attiva Motion LT reduce weight by 26% to 989 grams, making the Oceana and Luna models lighter in weight and easier to handle for skiers who are just learning.
