The 2025 FIS Snowboard, Freestyle, and Freeski World Championships in Engadin proved to be a stage for Volkl athletes to showcase their talent and dominance in the freeskiing world. With remarkable performances from Flora Tabanelli, Luca Harrington, and Birk Ruud, the event was nothing short of spectacular. Volkl secured World Champion titles in both the men's and women's competitions, further solidifying our presence at the top of the sport.

Flora Tabanelli: A Teenage Sensation

Seventeen-year-old Flora Tabanelli capped off an incredible season by claiming big air gold in a thrilling final. The Italian prodigy, who had already secured two Crystal Globes for big air and the overall women’s Park & Pipe in the 2024/25 World Cup season, demonstrated her resilience and skill on Saturday night. After falling in her second run, she came back strong with a stunning left double 1260 mute in her third attempt, earning an impressive 89.00 from the judges and a total score of 176.75.

Tabanelli's ability to handle pressure and deliver when it mattered most solidified her as a rising star in the sport. "I’m just so happy how it went, all of the season," she said after her victory. "I started with the idea of doing my best, and I’m really happy to have done it."

Luca Harrington Delivers a Masterclass

In the men’s competition, Volkl athlete Luca Harrington stole the show, securing the gold medal with a total score of 192.00. The 21-year-old New Zealander put down two runs in the 90s before sealing his victory in a spectacular fashion with a right triple 1980 safety in his final run, scoring an outstanding 95.25.

"This is just incredible. I’ve had such an amazing season, and to top it off with this is insane. I’m so grateful for every moment of this journey and to be able to put it down tonight is so special, and in front of a great crowd – I’m so happy, man," Harrington said.

With this victory, Harrington adds to his already impressive season, which includes the 2024/25 big air Crystal Globe and his X Games slopestyle gold and big air silver medals. His consistent high scores, including a 96.75 in his second run for his signature switch right triple 1800 esco, proved that he is a force to be reckoned with in the sport.

Birk Ruud Secures Bronze

Volkl’s success at the World Championships was further highlighted by Norwegian star Birk Ruud, who earned bronze with a score of 183.00. Fresh off his slopestyle World Championship victory, Ruud demonstrated his versatility and skill once again on the big air stage.

Harrington, reflecting on the level of competition, said, "The tricks that we’re doing are unbelievable, and we’ve definitely pushed the sport so much this season. I’m definitely looking forward to what’s next."

With these exceptional performances, Volkl athletes continue to dominate the global freeski scene, proving that their commitment to progression, style, and technical excellence is unmatched. Congratulations to Flora, Luca, and Birk for an unforgettable championship performance!
