FINLEY MELVILLE IVES WINS HIS FIRST WORLD CUP!

February 17, 2025

Finley Melville Ives from New Zealand has claimed his first World Cup victory.

A breakthrough moment! 18-year-old Finley Melville Ives has claimed his first-ever FIS Freeski World Cup victory in Calgary, dominating the final halfpipe event of the season with a massive first run score of 92.75!

It was a battle to the end, with Nick Goepper scoring 92.25 to take 2nd place. Alex Ferreira secured 3rd place in the event with 91.75!

For Melville Ives, standing on the podium alongside two legends was surreal:

“Both of them were my heroes growing up. I looked up at them on the TV, watched them at the Olympics. I skied with Nick when I was younger. I can’t believe it.”

For Fin Melville Ives, winning his first World Cup and sharing the podium with Ferreira and Goepper caps off a dream season.
